The resurrection happened.
Jesus really did die on the cross for our sins, was buried, and three days later rose.
I’m so thankful that my hope and joy does not rest in an Easter bunny. But a risen King.
I’m not against Easter egg hunts and people taking their kids out to hunt and what not, one day I may be doing that with mine. But they will also know that Easter isn’t just about a little cute rabbit…
It is about Jesus dying for our sins, being buried, and three days later conquering death.
The resurrection is real.
When Peter and John raced to the tomb, they knew something was up. They weren’t just racing, they were running the race. They were chasing after Jesus. They were longing to see Him again.
It is finished.
When the rock was rolled away and they didn’t see Jesus in the tomb, everything that he said during his ministry came into a condensed moment. He really was telling the truth about everything he said. The Easter bunny can’t do that, modern prophets can’t do that, false religions fill up the tomb.
The resurrection was real. He is risen. And it is finished.
But praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! -1 Peter 1:3
